Six people have been arrested in separate multi-million abalone busts in Cape Town.
Police raided a farm in Brackenfell on Monday night where they found more than 30,000 units of abalone.
Two people in their 40s were nabbed at the illegal abalone processing facility.
Minutes later, officers also swooped on a cold storage truck in Montagu Gardens and discovered 213 bags of frozen abalone.
The police's Andre Traut says: “Four suspects, a 23-year-old female and three males aged 23, 24 and 37, were arrested for illegal possession of abalone. The truck was also confiscated. The exact value of the confiscated abalone is yet to be determined, however, it’s estimated at several million rand.”
