Two people in their 40s were nabbed at the illegal abalone processing facility.
Minutes later, officers also swooped on a cold storage truck in Montagu Gardens and discovered 213 bags of frozen abalone.
The police's Andre Traut says: “Four suspects, a 23-year-old female and three males aged 23, 24 and 37, were arrested for illegal possession of abalone. The truck was also confiscated. The exact value of the confiscated abalone is yet to be determined, however, it’s estimated at several million rand.”
