GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - An elderly woman of Santaville was found dead outside her home this morning (3 November), after an alleged housebreaking at her home.
The deceased, identified by police as Julian Lukas (63), was found wrapped in a blanket outside her residence at around 5.30am.
There were no visible injuries on her body, but an autopsy to reveal her cause of death will be conducted on Monday 4 November.
According to Captain Bradley Rawlinson, spokesperson of the Graaff-Reinet SAPS, a community member informed police that her body was outside the house.
"On arrival at the scene, the police found the body and immediately responded to information. They arrested a 32-year-old man in Santaville, and recovered property that belonged to the victim," Rawlinson told the Advertiser.
The police are investigating two cases, namely housebreaking with the intent to commit robbery, as well as murder.
The suspect will appear in Graaff-Reinet Magistrate's Court on Monday.
This is a developing story.
