NATIONAL NEWS - The Cape Town Science Centre has emphasised the importance of exposing primary school children to computer programming.
It has formed partnerships with big businesses to ensure learners from Cape Town’s northern education district learn the basics of coding.
A collaboration with the Chevron Schools Project and SAP has enabled the Cape Town Science Centre to roll-out coding workshops at schools in Cape Town's northern suburbs.
Centre director Julie Cleverdon says the initiative also aims to break down the stigma that computer programming, also referred to as coding, is difficult or only for the intelligent.
