Update
GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — In the continuing saga of the empty houses in Bergendal, Umasizakhe and Kroonvale belonging to the Department of Roads and Public Works, the Advertiser reported two weeks ago that these houses were to be sold “voetstoots”, and that advertisements would be appearing in various local and national newspapers in this regard the following week.
Many inquiries were received in this regard by the Advertiser’s office, from people seeking more information. Mphumzi Zuzile, the media liaison officer of the Department of Roads and Public Works, was contacted by the Advertiser this week about this.
He admitted that, due to internal problems concerning the advertisements, they have still not been published, and he was unable to give a date when this would happen.
He did, however, promise that, once the details have been finalised, he would notify the Advertiser, and full details will then be published.
