NIEU-BETHESDA – Sophie Femela is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to caring for those in need in Nieu-Bethesda.

Given the high rate of unemployment in the village, she finds herself concerned with the number of children up to the age of 13 who go to bed with an empty stomach.

Seeing the need, Sophie started a registered non-profit organization called 'Feed the Need' where she provides hearty meals for those children in need.

Recently, a Port Elizabeth business, Gouws and Co, a fresh produce co-operative, donated a load of fresh vegetables which were much appreciated by the organization.

Sophie is a remarkable woman with a heart of gold who really cares for those in need.
