GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Christopher Culpo transported his audience on a marvelous tapestry of sound that leaped and lingered, dipped and dived through the Rupert Theatre last Friday night.
Reflecting on the performance Nomthandazo Sileku, the music teacher at Nqweba Senior Secondary School, expressed the sense of release that many felt during the performance given the sensory deprivation and stress of the past years of Covid:
"We love music too much and although we use our voices, that night made a relaxation in my body. Listening to that piano made me feel relieved. I loved the performance. I really enjoyed it."
Her feelings were echoed by learner, Anovuyo Alam: "I loved it. It made me feel so good inside, it uplifted me."
Sileku said "attending the event has been a great experience for me and for the learners because such opportunities have been scarce for too long now, especially in Graaff-Reinet. I believe the students have gained from the event as some of them have never been to a theatre before."
