NIEU-BETHESDA NEWS — September 2015 saw the first gathering in Nieu-Bethesda the Owl House Foundation (OHF) Visionary Team.
It began as a week-long meeting of independent advisors which yielded positive ideas, proposals, and a support structure for the past year to help implement many of the recommendations.
In the past year, the Visionary Team has continued to serve in an advisory capacity on many of the challenges and steps ahead for the protection and stability of the Owl House as well as organizational growth and institutional development. The OHF has welcomed the contributions and assistance of the Visionary Team and saw the opportunity to “cement” their continued input as a team of dedicated professionals that offer their time and expertise in their respective fields to the Owl House Foundation and its objectives.
This Advisory Team is the evolution of the Visionary Team and is currently made up of six portfolios that have been identified as key areas. This includes Heritage and Conservation, Curation and Collections, Operations, Marketing and Fundraising, Outreach and Education, and Scholarship. Early this November the Advisory Team will have its annual summit in Nieu Bethesda to map out the next steps in their portfolios.
The Advisory Team will work in tandem with both staff and Directors to action the proposals put forward by the Visionary Team and any other opportunities that may come in the future. Both the Owl House Foundation and the Advisory Team would like to welcome members of the community to get involved in their various projects and goals and will be hosting a “Meet and Greet” at the Nieu Bethesda Tennis Club on Saturday 12 November from 2-4pm where you can get to know members of the Advisory Team and find an opportunity to get involved that might interest you.
If you’d like to find out more about the Advisory Team, or just drop them a line with your ideas, they would like to invite you to contact them at ATeam@theowlhouse.co.za.
