NATIONAL NEWS - It has emerged that slain teacher, Jayde Panayiotou, was prescribed anti-depressants five days before she was murdered.
This was revealed during the testimony of Dr Bruce du Plessis, who was one of four witnesses to testify in the murder trial against her husband Christopher Panayiotou and two co-accused.
Panayiotou is accused of hiring men to kill his wife in April last year.
Dr Du Plessis has been Jayde Panayiotou’s family doctor for roughly 20 years.
He says she informed him she was battling to cope and feeling down during an appointment in May 2014.
He then prescribed an anti-depressant.
