HOFMEYR NEWS - Councillor Buti Quqa, accompanied by the MEC Mlungisi Mvoko, visited the bereaved parents of the deceased girls yesterday, 27 January.
At a meeting earlier yesterday, the MEC, as well as a representative of the Liqour Board, Mr. Mfula, and the Health inspector of the Enoch McGima Municipality, were also present.
After this meeting Mr Mfula proceeded to order the closing down of the Razzmatazz tavern till completion of investigations. The Blue Baboon Tavern in the main street of Hofmeyr was also closed as a result of requests by the youths of the area.
The 35-year-old manager of the Razzmatazz tavern was also taken into custody, whilst the owner of the Razzmatazz tavern requested the Advertiser to publish the following message.
"As the owners of the Razzmatazz Tavern in Twinsville, we wish to convey our sincerest condolences to the bereaved families of the three girls who sadly passed away on Christmas day," says Boeta and Dolly van Heerden.
"We trust that the law will take its course and that the truth about what happened that night will soon come to light."
"The three families travelled to Komani today, 28 December, to identify the bodies before post mortems are done," reports Simphiwe Qashani, brother of the deceased Cwenga Qashani.
"All three families will get together soon to discuss a combined funeral for our loved ones," reports Qashani.
