GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Telkom says connectivity issues experienced in Graaff-Reinet and surrounding areas should be reported to the service provider.
This after the Advertiser received numerous complaints from residents about signal issues with the new wireless line, and a general lack of communication from Telkom.
"They need to get their act together," said one resident, who wishes to remain anonymous. "We've had issues since March last year, have kept on reporting, and still nothing has happened."
According to the resident, when they make a call from their Telkom line, callers can hear each other for a while, but shortly after the callers can't hear each other.
A second complainant, who also wants to remain anonymous, said their phone only rings four or five times before it switches over to voicemail. This issue started the first week in February. "I'm also not able to access these messages," the complainant said.
According to him, the issue started when Telkom converted to the new wireless service. "It's so difficult to get help from Telkom," he added.
Telkom Spokesperson Nomalungelo Faku, through a media team, told the Advertiser that customers experiencing connection problems from the wireless service should email NatCC@telkom.co.za, EscCentre@telko.co.za or contact their 10210 support desk for any support related enquiry.
To retrieve voice messages, customers must dial 181 and follow the prompts.
According to the comment, customers need to provide Telkom with the following details:
- Account number
- Affected number
- Any reference numbers previously received from Telkom for this fault
- Physical address
