NIEU-BETHESDA NEWS — While the snow in Nieu-Bethesda was magical, it was fleeting in its frostiness and only lasted for a few hours in the village.
To the north of the village, however, deep snow still lay in the southern shadows and under glades of poplar trees two days after the fall.
It was a magnificent sight to see the effects of this fairly foreign substance on the landscape as it transformed the iconic Compassberg into something quite unrecognizable.
Farmers in the area are delighted at the deep snowfall in the catchment area which bodes well for ground water in the months to come.
