GRAAFF - REINET NEWS - The Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality (DBNLM) received numerous applications from service providers wanting to install fibre within the municipal area.

A committee was established and different companies made proposal presentations to the committee. 

Thereafter, recommendations from the committee were tabled to the Municipal Manager. The Municipality did not proceed with any appointments as yet.

One of the companies that made a presentation to the committee have started with installations of fibre within the municipal area without receiving the necessary approval from the DBNLM.

This matter is currently with the municipal legal representatives and is receiving the necessary attention.
Residents must kindly note that the installation of fibre in the area is currently illegal. Fibre installation can only commence once an appointment has been made and approval is granted.
