GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Residents of the Dr Beyers Naudé Municipality have been urged to check their property values on the General Valuation Roll (2019 – 2023) which will be open for public inspection from Monday, 8 April to Wednesday, 10 May.
The roll contains the specific property values, the rating category, as well as ownership details for the thousands of registered properties in Graaff-Reinet, Steytlerville, Willowmore, Aberdeen, Jansenville, Nieu-Bethesda, Klipplaat and Rietbron, which will inform the future billing rates for the properties.
Any property owner, or anyone who so desires, can lodge an objection with the Municipal Manager in respect of any matter, including the category, reflected or omitted from the valuation roll, within the aforementioned period.
Please note that the objection must be in relation to a specific individual property and not against the valuation roll as such.
The completed forms must be returned by registered mail to The Municipal Manager, Church Square, PO Box 71, Graaff-Reinet, 6280 or hand delivered to 12-14 Caledon Street, Graaff-Reinet, during office hours (08:00 – 15:00 on Mondays to Thursdays and from 08:00 – 15:30 on Fridays).
Please contact Ms D Sauls and Mr V Bosman during office hours at 049 807 5752 or 049 807 5797 with any queries.
Only signed original objections will be accepted – no e-mails will be considered.
The closing date of objections is Wednesday, 10 May, at 12:00.
The forms for the lodging of objections are obtainable from the Finance Offices of the municipality in all the relevant towns or on the municipal website.
