GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is urgently calling on all healthy individuals, between the ages of 16 and 65 and weighing more than 50kg, to donate blood at a blood drive being held in Graaff-Reinet tomorrow, Monday 16 April.
The blood drive will be held at the Te Water Hall in Bourke Street, Graaff-Reinet from 14:00 - 18:00.
Less than 1% of South Africans are active blood donors. A unit of blood only lasts 42 days after donation and, for this reason, it is important for blood donors to donate regularly. Donors can give blood as often as every eight weeks.
Every unit of blood can save up to three lives as blood is separated into red blood cells, plasma and platelets.
