NATIONAL NEWS - Acting National Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane has accused private investigator Paul O’Sullivan of invading his privacy and security.
The statement follows confirmation on Wednesday by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) that Phahlane is the subject of an investigation.
However, the details of the case have not been disclosed.
It’s understood the top cop is accused of defeating the ends of justice, for allegedly interfering with witnesses during a probe into his house in a luxury estate in the north of Pretoria.
Phahlane has questioned how he can be accused of defeating the ends of justice if he has never been informed that he was being investigated.
His spokesperson Mashadi Selepe says, “Nothing has been brought to the attention of the national commissioner yet. We are not aware.”
