GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - It has been confirmed that Swartberg Pass is now open to traffic again after a truck became stuck on the route this morning, while travelling from Prince Albert.
Motorists are reminded that the Swartberg Pass is not suitable for caravans or heavy vehicles and remains completely impassable for trucks with trailers.
Western Cape Minister of Infrastructure, Tertuis Simmers, has urged all road users to strictly comply with the vehicle length and mass restrictions applicable to the pass.
These restrictions are clearly displayed on traffic signage on both approaches to the route.
To report any incidents, please contact the Garden Route Emergency Call Centre on 044 805 5071 or WhatsApp 081 709 5193.
