GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - At Union Preparatory School, learning is fun, and the little ones get the opportunity to develop creativity by doing art projects which turn a dull world into a wonderful bright world of colour and fun.
The Grade 2B learners recently completed a beautiful collaborative art project - a vibrant floral vase created through teamwork and creativity.
Each learner played an integral part in the project, which developed their ability to plan and execute the task at hand.
The boys painted the background, while the girls carefully tore and assembled the purple vase.
Together, they added flowers using a mix of fun techniques - balloon stamping for the orange blooms, “dip and paint” for the roses, bubble paint for the hydrangeas and white stippling to add soft highlights.
Pastels brought the leaves to life and bright yellow flowers added the perfect finishing touch.
This mural will remind the children of the fun they had creating it for many years to come.
Each one of us can change our surroundings by working together with others.
