GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - Last week, the Garden Route and Karoo experienced heatwave-like conditions with the mercury topping 30°C in the Karoo followed by refreshing rain which broke the heat spell and made for lower temperatures.
Once again, very hot to extremely hot and uncomfortable conditions are expected over the southern parts of Cape Town, Cape Winelands, Central Karoo districts, the interior of the Garden Route and Overberg today, Monday, 16 February.
You can expect the mercury to reach 40°C in Prince Albert and in Riversdale today with clear skies forecast.
In Graaff-Reinet the temperature will rise to 34°.

Western Cape
The weather will be fine in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot to extremely hot over the interior. Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected over the north-eastern interior in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light and variable but moderate to fresh easterly along the south coast in the morning. The expected UVB sunburn index: Extreme
Western half of the Eastern Cape
Monday will be cloudy with morning fog in places south of the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly, but light to moderate in places in the morning.
Eastern half of the Eastern Cape
The Eastern Cape will experience morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise fine and hot, but warm in places along the coast. It will become partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms in the extreme north from the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong from late morning.
