GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Thembalesizwe Primary School in Graaff-Reinet has been closed after a teacher tested positive for Covid-19.
According to acting principal Nomonde Yayi, the teacher was in contact with learners, staff and workers, as she was part of the team doing Covid-19 screenings at the school. The teacher received her results on Monday, and had not been to the school the week before.
“The school will be disinfected, and re-opened for Grade 3, Grade 6 and Grade 7 learners on 27 July,” Yayi explained. Up until the closure, only Grade 7s attended the school.
“It is difficult for us to be at home because we love our jobs, but this is necessary for the health and safety of our learners and staff,” Yayi concluded.
