NXUBA NEWS - The Cradock Methodist Church Women’s Ministry and Fish River Circuit recently hosted an inspiring high tea in Nxuba in recognition of the women from this ministry. Under the leadership of Hombisa Maluleke, wife of the superintendent, the event was an appreciation of the women who often work behind the scenes; their dedication, teamwork and humility.
Women from different cultures and social standings came together, laying aside titles and positions to stand as daughters of the Most High.
The theme for the day, ‘Like a Teabag in Hot Water’, drew a powerful parallel between the humble teabag and the daily struggles women face. Just as a teabag reveals its true flavour when placed in hot water, women often discover their strengths, influence and purpose in times of challenge.
Maluleke opened with a devotion that reaffirmed the qualities of endurance and grace. The guest speaker, Noncedo Zonke, mayor of Inxuba, expanded on the analogy and encouraged women to embrace their trials as opportunities to inspire and fulfil their God-given purpose.
A warm spirit of fellowship permeated the event as guests enjoyed deliciously prepared food, with the highlight being Lynette Moorcraft’s homemade soup.
Special thanks was given to all the individuals and businesses who made donations that enabled the event to happen.
“Their contributions, and the dedication of the Methodist Church Cradock’s Women’s Ministry ensured the event’s success and reinforced the vision of creating safe spaces where women can relax, build relationships, and be uplifted,” said the MC, Ethel Potgieter.
Heartfelt appreciation was also expressed to all who gave of their time, resources and prayers. Every attendee was reminded that, like a teabag in hot water, women can transform challenges into strength, flavour, and purpose - glorifying God through their lives.
