ABERDEEN NEWS - Burglars targeted the bar of Villieria Guest House in Aberdeen and got away with more than R4 000 worth of alcohol.
The burglary took place on the evening of Sunday 26 April.
The owner of the guest house, Louis van Zyl, said except for the alcohol, the thieves stole two circuit television cameras and an alarm system, broke a window and damaged the security gate and back door to gain entrance. They also got away with the optics behind the bar.
In another burglary, at about 5pm on Saturday 25 April, equipment was stolen from a garage on Brand Street. The owner, Mike de Villiers, said the burglars must've known about the valuable items in the garage. They gained entry by breaking the garage door open with a steel pipe. De Villiers described the stolen property as very valuable.
In the third housebreaking, the complainant left his home on Zingia Street at 8.15am on Friday 24 April. On returning just past 8am the Saturday, he found four boxes of cement tiles were taken from a place of safekeeping.
The Aberdeen SAPS also opened a stock theft docket, after a goat was slaughtered on Friday in an informal place for grazing.
