BUSINESS NEWS - Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 49 (1) (a)(i) read together with Section 78 (2) of the Local Government Municipal Property Rates Act 2004 (Act No.6 of 2004), hereinafter referred to as the “Act”, that the 1st Supplementary Valuation Roll for the financial year is open for public inspection at the municipal offices as listed below from 1 July 2025 – 31 July 2025 during office hours:
- Graaff-Reinet - 12-14 Caledon Street Graaff Reinet
- Steytlerville - Church Street Steytlerville
- Willowmore - 42 Main Street Willowmore
- Aberdeen - 17 Voortrekker Street Aberdeen
- Jansenville - 34 Mainstreet Jansenville
- Nieu-Bethesda - Muller Street Nieu-Bethesda
- Klipplaat - 53 Maxmamase Street Klipplaat
- Rietbron - 1 Keulder Street Rietbron
An invitation is hereby made in terms of Section 49 (1) (a) (iii), read with 78 (2) of the Act, that any owner of the property or other person who so desires should lodge an objection with the Municipal Manager in respect of any matter, including the category, reflected in or omitted from the valuation roll within the abovementioned period. Attention is specifically drawn to the fact that in terms of Section 50(2) of the Act an objection must be in relation to a specific individual property and not against the valuation roll as such. The forms for the lodging of objection are obtainable from finance offices of the Municipality in Graaff Reinet, Aberdeen, Nieu Bethesda, Jansenville, Klipplaat, Rietbron, Steytlerville and Willowmore, or Municipal website www.bnlm.gov.za.
The completed original forms must be returned to the following address by registered mail: The Municipal Manager, Church Square, P.O Box 71, Graaff Reinet, 6280 or hand delivered at 12-14 Caledon Street Graaff Reinet and during office hours 08h00 – 15H00 Monday to Friday.
No emails or faxed copies will be accepted, and no late objections will be accepted after the closing date.
