The George Riding Club (GRC) welcomed learners from Paarl to Plettenberg Bay at the weekend for the first 2025 South African National Schools Association (Sanesa) show. More than 300 entries were received. Learners' skills were tested and they showed their mettle in a variety of classes, including equitation, working hunter, showing, performance riding, graded show jumping, and graded dressage. In between the competitions, the GRC grounds were abuzz with parents, families and friends attending. Everybody had lots of fun.Rosemarie Bartlett, director of the REC Equestrian Academy at the GRC, said the standard of riding keeps improving as riders compete for points to qualify for the national event at the end of the year. "Some of our riders judged this weekend have shown remarkable improvement, which bodes well for our schools team if chosen for the nationals." The event was a huge organisational effort with officials from the Eastern and Western Cape involved.
