Update
JANSENVILLE NEWS AND VIDEO - The R75 from Jansenville to Gqeberha has been reopened for traffic after the Public Order Policing Unit (POPS) successfully negotiated with Jansenville residents who blocked it off earlier this morning to demonstrate their discontent about the alleged murder of a foreign national over the weekend.
Police confirmed that they responded to a complaint at the Jansenville bricksfield at about 03:35 on Monday morning where abandoned bags of groceries were found next to a house opposite a spaza shop.
According to Captain Erasmus it was discovered that a side door of the building was unlocked and the padlock was lying on the floor near the safety door. Upon entering the building a person was found lying on the floor. He was declared dead on the scene.
Police are investigating a case of murder and robbery. Anyone who can assist with any information is requested to contact Capt. Erasmus on 0824134913.
