Teacher assistants protest after 2 months of no pay
The director of the department in the Eastern Cape, Mr H N Godlo, told the Advertiser that he is attending to the matter.

GRAAFF-REINET NEWS & VIDEO - Teacher assistants from Union Prep and various other schools in Graaff-Reinet are protesting at the Department of Education building in the town as they haven't been paid at all since starting work on 1 December. 

The assistants are employed by the department to assist schools with Covid-19 protocol and their contracts expire end of March.

They should be receiving R3 500 per month but many have not seen a cent. It came to light this morning that many of their names haven't even been loaded onto the department's payroll system.
