Update
GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A suspect who robbed 71-year-old John Davies of his groceries and belongings in Graaff-Reinet on 8 April, is still at large.
Davies, who is disabled, was returning home from Camdebo Spar, when the robber struck approximately 100 metres from Davies' residence on River Road. The incident occurred at around 12.30pm.
Davies suffered a broken hip and scrapes and bruises when the robber attacked him from behind and threw him to the ground.
Neighbours rushed to the scene to help and the suspect, dressed in black, was seen running away before disappearing into the bushes next to the Sundays River.
Metro Ambulance Services and CDK Armed Response were on the scene within minutes.
The victim was rushed to Midland Hospital, from where he was transferred to the Livingstone Hospital in Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson, confirmed that the police have opened a case of robbery.
