LATEST UPDATE @ 18:10 - BOMB THREAT TO SHOPRITE FALSE
GRAAFF-REINET NEWS AND VIDEO - Graaff-Reinet SAPS are currently on scene at Shoprite, Graaff-Reinet, following a bomb threat to the store this afternoon.
“Brian Bouwer, manager of Shoprite, received a call from Shoprite’s head office in Cape Town shortly after 14:00, stating that a bomb threat had been made to the store in Graaff-Reinet,” said local Police Spokesperson, Bradley Rawlinson.
The building was evacuated and parts of Caledon Street, where Shoprite is located, as well as surrounding streets, have been cordoned off.
The dog unit from Cradock arrived on scene shortly before 17:00, and a Bomb Explosive Unit from Port Elizabeth is on their way to Graaff-Reinet.
