KAROO NEWS - A truck driver, Pietie Booysen, died and his passenger sustained minor injuries when the truck overturned on the R63 road between Somerset East and Pearston on 4 December.
The accident occurred at around 5.40am.
According to police spokesperson Captain Bradley Rawlinson, Booysen resided in Barrydale. Rawlinson said the truck was underway in the direction of Pearston, when it allegedly left the road and overturned.
"The occupants were trapped in the truck. Booysen died on the scene and the passenger was taken to the Andries Vosloo Hospital in Somerset East for treatment," Rawlinson said.
A culpable homicide docket was opened.
