GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Central Rugby Club, which is playing in the Grand Challenge Shield for 2018, opened its rugby season with a friendly game last Saturday at the Botanic Sports Grounds against a team from Uitenhage.
The game was well attended by the club's local supporters, which was greatly appreciated. The visitors, Progress A Grand Challenge A division team narrowly beat the home team 13-10, after a spirited challenge from Central.
Player of the match was Chanaine (Boer) Smith from Central who outshone the opponents.
Central is playing its first league away game this coming Saturday, 21st April, against Middleburg Excelsiors.
Central executive, president and chairperson Hento Davids join with the supporters to wish the local team all of the best for the coming rugby season.
