GRAAFF-REINET RUGBY NEWS - Central Rugby Club dominated against Karoo Springboks during a match on 7 March at the Collie Koeberg Stadium, where they won 47 - 7.
The game was part of the Eastern Province Rugby Union's qualifying games for a place in the South African Rugby Union Gold Cup Tournament. According to the Gold Cup Tournament website, the tournament is for non-university South African teams, and has the same format as the Rugby World Cup. The date for this tournament is yet to be announced.
Saturday's play was the first of the four pool play-offs.
Central's fly-half, Mandley Sauls, was appointed Man of the Match. Sauls scored two tries and converted all the other tries, with a personal contribution of 24 points to the final score.
Central Club President, Hento Davids, thanked the community for their support. He committed him and his team to turn 2020 into an exciting season.
Davids called on the community to help Central to look after local sports fields, and to report those who vandalise facilities.
