GRAAFF-REINET RUGBY NEWS — It was war at Kollie Koeberg Stadium last Saturday.
As a curtain-raiser to the regular games, the EPRU Karoo Sub Union women's rugby final between Middelburg and Pearston was held at 13:30.
Middelburg dominated most of the game and won by a large margin.
Central had two games against Excelsiors from Middelburg. Despite some good play from the second team, the game ended in a draw, with neither team putting any points on the scorecard.
Central's first team against Excelsiors saw the best competitive rugby of the season. Central again came out the winner with a final score of 27-13, after some good running rugby and domination of the lineouts.
Sidwel Memani from Central was crowned Man of the Matches with for his excellent tackles and good ball-carrying skills.
A large contingent of supporters from Middelburg was at the stadium, and at times team management had their hands full to keep all the spectators calm.
President Hento Davids expressed his satisfaction with Central's positive start of the second round of games.
Central will play Aberdeen on Saturday 30 June, at the Aberdeen Showgrounds. Davids expressed his hope that Central's supporters will turn up in their numbers.
