GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Central had an away game on 26 May, playing against Waillers from Somerset East.
Both the 1st and 2nd Reserves once again recorded walkovers. Central first team had a quiet first half, with a halftime score of 6-3 to Central. In the second half, the team opened up and played an entertaining game, resulting in a final score that was convincingly in Central's favour of 20 -3.
Enrico Steyn was award the Man of the Match and was congratulated by Mentley Sauls, the team captain who has recovered from severe injuries incurred at beginning of the season. An indication of the success of Central is that many of the Central players were included in the Karoo Sub Union team that played last weekend at the Eastern Province Rugby Union (EPRU) Sub Union day at Patterson.
This was a great success. Karoo Sub Union played against EP Metro, producing the best game of the day and outplaying their opponents with a win of 49 -17. Five of Central players were included in the Karoo Sub Union winning team.
Central's last match will be a home game against Karoo Springboks from Cradock at the Collie Koeberg Stadium on Saturday 9th June. They are hoping that players' families and club supporters will come out in their numbers to cheer for their team, especially to encourage the team captain who is back from his injuries.
