RUGBY NEWS - South African sides are “not up to the level” of conditioning that New Zealand franchises are at in Vodacom Super Rugby, and unless teams adapt, they will always be behind.
That is the view of Vodacom Bulls coach Nollis Marais, who is under immense pressure after his side suffered their worst-ever defeat at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday, losing 62-24 to the Crusaders in a one-sided affair.
The Bulls are currently searching for answers to their own malaise, but Marais has conceded that the conditioning is one of the key elements to their problems this season.
“I think we are not up to the level of New Zealand teams with fitness and intensity and you can see that in all the matches,” Marais said.
