GRAAFF-REINET BOWLS NEWS - When the final round of the Tops @ Spar Summer Business League was played on the greens of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club last Thursday evening, Toyota needed a four-shot victory over PG Glass to claim the title.
Needless to say, the combination of Soppies du Toit, Noël Taylor-Freeme, Dalene Pienaar and Arthur Langley recorded a 13-shot win to walk away with the cherished prize. Toyota finished on 8 + 52, while PG Glass ended on 8 + 33.
Two teams were tied on 8 + 20; namely BKB and Octofin.
In a 1-bowl play-off, BKB came out on top. The only other side to have lost just one game in the competition was Polisie. The evening ended with a prize-giving, where all 24 teams received a prize, followed by a relaxing braai. The controlling body would like to thank the sponsors and all the sides for their participation and look forward to the 2019 season.
