GRAAFF-REINET NEWS— Last weekend, 9 and 10 June, 57 bowlers took to the greens of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club to compete in the Midlands Men's and Ladies' Singles championships.
Thirty-three men and 24 ladies competed for the titles in the Open, Senior and Novice categories.
The winners were as follows:
LADIES
Open - Helen Louw (Middelburg) defeated Charlene Colyn (Graaff-Reinet) in a 26-end thriller by 21 shots to 18.
Seniors - Riana du Toit (Graaff-Reinet) recorded a 21 - 8 win against Laurraine Miller (Middelburg).
Novices - Elize van Heerden (Middelburg) defeated Stefanie Smith (Cradock) by 21 shots to 9.
MEN
Open - Arthur Langley (Graaff-Reinet) had the better of Abri Joubert (Middelburg) with a 21 - 13 victory
Seniors - Tienie Prinsloo (Cradock) trounced Neil Miller (Middelburg) 21 - 6
Novices - Willie van Heerden (Middelburg) had a good win against Chris de Wet (Middelburg) by 21 shots to 12.
The Midlands committee wishes all the winners good bowling in the EP Finals that will take place towards the end of July.
