SPORT NEWS - Last weekend competitive bowls took place on the greens of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club to determine the Midlands Singles Champions in the Veteran, Novice and Open categories.
On Saturday morning the bowlers were greeted by a blustery wind, which made for extremely difficult playing conditions.
However, the bowlers persevered and dished up quality shots on numerous ends.
On Sunday morning the weather had changed completely and the competitors played in light rain, which later dissipated and cool, pleasant conditions followed.
But regardless of the weather, as Midlands President, Jaco Meyer said: "The atmosphere and positive vibe made the weekend a total success!"

Thanks to Bentley for preparing three well-groomed greens.
