SPORT NEWS - The Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipal (DBNLM) Netball Association held their finals at Spandau Secondary School in Graaff-Reinet on Sunday 27 August.
Several clubs from different areas including Aberdeen, Klippaat, Willowmore, Jansenville, Steytlerville and Graaff-Reinet participated in the event which marked the end of the league games that has been taking place throughout the area.

The league games started on 29 April and 14 teams participated. According to Leratho Siyaya, chairperson of the DBNLM netball structure, the DBNLM stands out as the region with the highest number of registered clubs within the Sarah Baartman District.
"The top four teams from this league will go on to represent district premier and super leagues.
These leagues are scheduled to commence on 2 September in Port Alfred," said Siyaya.
For the next four years the executive team will be in charge of the DBNLM Netball Council. This election took place in March with the collaboration of the DBNLM Sports Council.
The newly elected team will be Lucinda Smith (deputy secretary), Anneline Dolf (general secretary), Leratho Siyaya (Chairperson), Gloria Williams (vicechairperson), Elsebe Moos (treasurer), Marsha Wildschut (convener of development and structure), Nokuzol Gxakwe (convener of umpires), Gavin Heinse (convener of selectors), Cynthia Jaftha (trustee) and Sharon McCarthy (convener of Coaches).

Teams 3 and 4 move on to the Premier Cup on 3 September and teams 1 and 2 move on to the Super Cup on 17 September.
