GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — This coming weekend Union High will be a buzz of sporting activity.
On Friday, March 31, Union will be the hosting the Spar Eastern Cape School Girls’ Hockey Challenge, with visiting schools from across the province. Hockey matches are starting at 7.30am, with the prize-giving taking place at 3.45pm.
Saturday sees the start of the 30th Annual Senior Rugby and Hockey Festival, with 20 rugby and 16 hockey schools travelling from far and wide to attend the Festival, which is taking place from April 1 to 3.
Hockey will be played on all three days, and rugby on Saturday and Monday. Union High welcomes the community to come and enjoy a festival of rugby and hockey this weekend. All parents, Old Unionites and Friends of Union are invited to the steak braai in the Tony Burrell Union on Saturday Evening at 7pm at R100 per person.
"It is always a privilege to be able to host an event of this nature and to extend a warm welcome to all our guest schools, parents and supporters who are attending our 30th Senior Rugby and Hockey Festival," said principal William Pringle.
