GRAAFF-REINET GOLF NEWS - The 23rd annual Proudfoot Tournament was held over three days this past weekend at the Graaff-Reinet golf course.
More than 250 golfers - both local and visitors from all over the country - competed in glorious weather conditions for the excellent prizes on offer.
• Tydens Donderdag se kompetisie, met Mica as hoofborg, was dit die plaaslike gholfer Godwin Bosch wat die beste gholf gespeel het en die dag met 39 punte gewen het. In die tweede plek was dit Tom Adlam wat die uittel met Reg Ryan gewen het. Ryan het die derde plek toe volgestaan.
• N1 Construction was die hoofborg vir Vrydag se kompetisie.
Dit is gewen deur Errol Williams met 41 punte.
Johndré Ludick het die uittel verloor en toe die tweede plek opgeraap. Ryno Coetzee was derde met 40 punte.
• Vir Saterdag se kompetisie was Spar die hoofborg - dit is die tiende agtereenvolgende jaar wat Spar dié toernooi ondersteun.
Dié dag se eerste prys is gewen deur Jacques Theron met 41 punte. Eugene Adlam en Errol Williams, beide met 40 punte, was tweede en derde op 'n uittel.

• The four-ball consisting of Godwin Bosch, Richard Swartz, Bradley Costa and Patrick Ludick, made full use of their local knowledge of the course, and won both the Solomon Cup and the Holmes Cup during the tournament.
Playing consistently well over the full three days, and thus winning the Proudfoot Trophy, was the young local golf prodigy, Johndré Ludick.
The golfers and their partners greatly enjoyed the famous Karoo hospitality, culminating in dinner and music every night of the tournament.
Besides the main sponsors, the organisers would like to acknowledgement the generous sponsorships made by The Golfers Club, Riverside Engen/ Corner Bakery and Tavcor.
A number of local golfers and businesses are also thanked for their contribution to the success of the tournament.

• The Wednesday IPS competition, played on 21 March and sponsored by Gold Rush, was won by André Olivier with 31 points.
