GOLF NEWS - The second Camdeboo Cup is happening this Saturday, 11 November, between the Town team and the Country golfers.
Last year, 60 players had a great time playing golf in a Ryder Cup-style event with fantastic spring weather.
The teams are all set to compete in foursomes, better ball, and singles play at the Graaff-Reinet golf course to see which team comes out on top.
The following Saturday, 18 November, everyone - regardless of their level of golfing ability - is invited to join in a fun and short competition starting at 16:00. The MTGP Sixers golf day will take place over just six holes, and these holes are quite short, involving chipping and putting.
The format is called an American Scramble, which is perfect for beginners. Newer players won't feel any pressure, and you play each shot from the best position of the other three players in your team. It's all about having a great time and enjoying the fresh air at Graaff-Reinet golf club. Even if you're not a regular golfer and haven't played in a while, you're more than welcome to come and loosen up those muscles.
"The round of six holes won't take more than an hour and a half, and we'll have braai packs available afterward," says Derek Helm. Entry is only R60, and for more information, you can contact Bernie Weyer on 082 779 4752. You don't need your own clubs as we'll have enough to share. You can enter as a team of four or by yourself, and the deadline for entries is Wednesday 15 November to secure your spot."
