GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — This year's Proudfoot Tournament - to be held on March 16, 17 and 18, a Thursday, Friday and Saturday - is shaping up to be the biggest one yet with planning already in full swing.
This three-day golfing tournament - played on the greens of the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club - is the golfing highlight of the year with golfers travelling from far and wide to participate in this prestigious tourney.
Organisers, this year, have instrumented a different take on the tournament. This year, the bulk of the fantastic prizes up for grabs will go to entrants with the best cumulative score over the three days.
There will still be daily prizes for the winners of each day's Individual Stableford, but only those golfers who have participated in all three days will come in recognition for the trophy and the various other prizes up for grabs.
The prize giving ceremony on Saturday evening will precede a splendid buffet meal.
The Graaff-Reinet Golf Club calls on all local golfers to secure their entries as there is only a limited number available. Please note that specific tee-off times will only be allocated once proof of payment has been received. Entries close on February 26.
The entry fee per player is R500 for one day’s play or R1500 for participation on all three days.
The fee includes breakfast, halfway house, on course entertainment and dinner.
Extra costs for the tournament will be caddy fees which will have to be paid by the respective players.
Anyone who wishes to participate is welcome to contact Johan Danielson between 9am and 5pm Mondays to Fridays at 040 555 0036 or 076 754 6802.
