GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — The Graaff-Reinet Golf Club's committee has decided to revise the entry fee for this year’s Proudfoot Tournament to be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 16, 17 and 18.
Prize money is a whopping R20 000 this year with a prizegiving to be held on each of the three days as well as extra prizes for the players with the best accumulated score acquired by participating in all three days of the tournament.
This tournament is the highlight of the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club's yearly calendar with players travelling from all over the country to participate in this prestigious tournament. Planning is in full swing and the field is filling up quickly.
The revised entry fees are the following: R300 for morning fields, R400 for any one afternoon, R750 for two afternoons and R1 000 for participation in all three days.
Entries close on February 26. The reduced morning entry fee is at a huge discount to encourage the local members to participate. On entry, members’ spouses will also be entitled to a free dinner.
Entry will include coffee, sandwiches, half-way house and dinner with entertainment each evening. On Thursday there is a karaoke evening; on Friday various local artists will perform and on Saturday a live band.
