SPORT NEWS - Prior to the start of the second round of the Summer Business League at the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club last Wednesday afternoon, 1 November, the controlling body of the competition made an announcement that saw major changes in log positions after the round was played. The "shot profit/loss" accrued after the first round of play would be expunged.
This decision left some of the teams smiling after the second round.
Certain teams improved their log positions by as much as 21 places, while other sides dropped as much as 25 places.
Be that as it may, only eight teams remained unbeaten after the second round. They are PG Glass on four game points and + 12 shots, BKB with the same score; Graphic Signs on 4 + 11; HVS on 4 + 9; Golden Monty's on 4 + 5; and three teams on 4 + 2 - namely Nommerpas, Camdeboo Vet and Profcon 1.
The unbeaten sides were joined by Graaff-Reinet Advertiser on 2 + 17 and Top Spinners on 2 + 16 to round out the top 10 teams.
It is still early days in this competition with a few more rounds left to play and there will be many changes on the log, but the central theme is enjoyment by one and all.
