PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Murray High School Grade 12 learner, Limile Mamana, is hard at work on his path towards a bright future.
The 18-year-old is a talented left footed-player who was one of the young soccer stars that played a pivotal role in Oriented Birds' triumphs in the 2022/23 Safa Eden Regional Men's League and Western Cape Third Division playoffs.
The young man from Kwanokuthula was one of two talented stars that were earmarked by Supersport United scouts to join their development team, the other being Aphiwe Hece from Mossel Bay.
Mamana told Knysna-Plett Herald that he aims to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional athlete and to make his family very proud.
The Murray High learner said that he believes that through sport he can easily defeat any challenges or obstacles in his life. "Winning the provincial title with Oriented Birds means a lot to me as I am still the youngest player in the team," he said. "It feels great and I'm very happy too, to be the part of the team that won two major trophies in the Western Cape, it was a dream come true."
Mamana also played a vital role in Murray High School's U19 soccer team that qualified for the Inter-Regional Kay Motsepe U19 Sanlum Schools Cup tournament that will be played later this year.
He thanked everyone in the team for believing in his style of play and the football supporters in Bitou communities for rallying behind them.
Mamana has a bright future ahead of him, and currently stays with his parents in Plettenberg Bay.
