FOOTBALL NEWS - Camdeboo Football Academy celebrated a hard-fought victory against Bush Pirates of Addo, clinching a 2 - 1 win during their ABC Motsepe League match on Saturday evening at the Botanics Sport Grounds.
In a high-tempo encounter, Academy took the lead despite an early setback when star player Ricardo Arries missed a penalty. The match showcased both teams' determination, with players pushing hard for the win.
"This is our first game, and the boys really stepped up," said Academy coach Xolile Galada. "We played very well against Bush Pirates, and with the hard work of our new young players, preparations went smoothly."
Arries redeemed himself by scoring one of the two goals for the Academy, alongside a strike from Luvuyo Speelman. This victory marks Camdeboo's first win on home soil, much to the delight of their supporters.
Looking ahead, both teams will clash again this weekend in the Nedbank Cup Knockouts in Addo, scheduled from Friday to Saturday. The winner will advance to face Gqeberha United, Peacemaker FC or Seven Stars FC.
