GRAAFF-REINET FOOTBALL NEWS - A mini tournament, organised by Future Stars, was played this weekend at the Graaff Reinet Primary School rugby field. Six teams participated.
Each club donated R200 in the pool to play in the tournament and "the winner takes all". The games started on Saturday with the fixtures and the knockout was played on Sunday.
The final was played between Birds United Football Club and Future Stars Football Club.
The game started with Future Stars scoring the first goal, a cross kick from Marcel Karelse, of the Future Stars, and received by Quintilijeen Nortjie who scored a quick goal, The Birds did not stand back and Remanio Lottering retaliated with a spinning quick goal.
Birds United won the game and the R1 200 prize money.
