CRICKET NEWS - The Kings XI Punjab have kept their semifinal hopes alive by beating the Kolkata Knight Riders by 14 runs at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday night.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the home side would have been disappointed with their effort of 167-6 and would have walked into the shed knowing that their playoff aspirations teetered on a knife’s edge.
Before this match, the Kings XI needed to win all three of their remaining matches to have any hope of taking part in the knockout round of the competition but that looked a moot point when Chris Lynn (84 from 52) was in full flow and on course to win the game all on his own.
