CRICKET NEWS - Hashim Amla’s second century of the season was not enough to secure victory as his Kings XI Punjab fell by 6 wickets to the Gujarat Lions at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
Amla became only the third player in IPL history to register two hundreds in the same season in an innings that exuded class throughout his stand of 104 from 60 balls which helped the home team set an imposing first innings total of 189-3.
This is the second time this season that an Amla century is found on the losing team's scorecard as poor fielding and Dwayne Smith’s 74 from only 39 balls combined to see the away team reach their target with 2 balls to spare.
