GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - For many years, Union High School in Graaff-Reinet has traditionally inaugurated the new year with its Senior Cricket Festival, and this year is no exception.
The school is hosting the 17th edition of this festival, that is sponsored by Standard Bank.
This event commenced on 10 January.
Matches are scheduled to take place across various venues in Graaff-Reinet, including Union's Murray and Puttick fields, the Botanics Sports Club, Hoër Volkskool, Asante Sana Private Game Reserve, and Wheatlands Farm.
Each location, set in the picturesque landscape of the Gem of the Karoo, provides an ideal backdrop for cricket during the peak of summer.
This year's tournament will feature teams competing in T20s, declaration matches, and 50-over encounters across the two-week schedule.
Union High will be welcoming Stirling High School, East London, Edgemead High School, Westering High School, Hoërskool DF Malherbe, Hoër Tegniese Skool Daniel Pienaar Technical High School, Lilyfontein School, Hoërskool Nico Malan, Victoria Park High School, Rand Park High School, Fairmont High School and Cradock High School.
