GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Thirteen Union High athletes were selected to represent the Camdeboo Athletics Team at the meeting held at the Oval in Port Elizabeth on Friday, February 24.
First places were won by Marché Green (U.15 Girls High Jump), Matthew Jones (U.19 Boys Shot Put and Discus) and Sanja du Plessis (U.19 Girls 800m).
Second places were secured by Erin Mitchell (U.14 High Jump), Sanja du Plessis (U.19 Girls 1500m) and Ntsika Ngongoma (U.14 Boys 400m).
Fourth places were garnered by Bowen Langmead (U.15 Boys Javelin), Sima Desemela (U.17 Girls 400m), Rosslyn Sparks (U.17 Girls Discus), Jason Beaumont (U.17 Boys Discus), Cameron Muir (U.17 Boys 3000m) and Thando Haarmans (U.19 Boys Long Jump).
The following athletes were selected to represent the Sarah Baartman District Team at the Eastern Cape Championships in East London on March 10 and 11: Ntsika Ngongoma (U.14 Boys 400m), Matthew Jones (U.19 Boys Discus and Shot Put) and Sanja du Plessis (U.19 Girls 800m).
Congratulations to all the athletes on their fine achievements, especially those who will be representing the school and district at the Eastern Cape Championships.
